Ubuntu 10.04 - removing multiple grub boot options

Intro

During its lifetime, Ubuntu gets series of kernel updates. At each kernel update, grub (v1.98) is updated in order to allow the user to boot to those kernel versions. After 2-3 updates grub boot menu gets really congested. For those who do not want all the boot possibilities here is how to clean that up.

I love guake terminal on Ubuntu. However, it contains one flaw that is really painful having two monitors in a little less "standard" configuration.

From I9100XWLPT to CM9

Intro

Ok, so this is just a promt guide-through for all those that have Samsung I9100 and want to make use of Cyanogenmod 9. Which is far better (well, not in all apps, I must admit) than the stock software (version I9100XWLPT in my case). This guide is based on a real-life scenario, when my new galaxy s2 was blessed with the new software :)

This tutorial is intended to sum up and list all steps required to prepare development environment for building Cyanogenmod 9 (CM) system from sources. Build target is Samsung Galaxy S (SGS), but tips I give are easily used with other devices.
